She wanted a lover on New Year's Day

Who would take her hand and run into the winter ocean Clad only in neoprene boots.

But, the man on the shore, her husband

Was content to stand on the beach

Hold her robe and carry her flask

Waiting for her return from her adventure

To make sure she was not too cold.
